I’ve been advised by several people to try recording voiceovers. So, here we are. Attempting that. Hello, World.
Please keep in mind that I do not have high quality equipment with which to record. I am sitting here with a blanket over my head to try to block out the sound of my furnace and my cat as we speak. So please keep any feedback constructive and kind. Thanks.
Anyway.
This is a much older poem of mine. Circa 2017? I always kind of liked how it turned out, though.
I am not much of a romance writer. So this is about all I have to offer at present for Valentine’s Day.
But I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Skin Deep
by Rachael Raine Rivers
They say that Beauty is only skin-deep. But even skin itself is deeper than the surface of the skin, And there is no light within regardless, where grayish organs invariably float, wedged into a comfortable mess, which prefers not to be disturbed. I can’t help feeling, though, that if you must dissect a person to demonstrate their lack of loveliness by way of this inevitable humanity within, You were not really looking for it in the first place.
